"The Credibility Gap: How Internal Socialwashing in Financial Services Undermines Inclusive Economic Progress"

This upcoming paper investigates the phenomenon of “socialwashing” in the financial services sector, with a specific focus on the misrepresentation and overstatement of commitments to advancing the socioeconomic outcomes of underrepresented communities (including women, racialized groups, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ2S+ communities). This study argues that insufficient verification mechanisms and incentive misalignment have enabled widespread symbolic compliance.

Working Paper (Field and Inductive Study)

"Fiduciary Hazard or Structural Exclusion? How Sourcing True Independent Directors Enhances Governance and Dismantles Compliance-Cloaked Bias"

This upcoming paper postulates the decoupling of the internal employee-director relationship by UK ACSPs to true independent (conflict-free) contractor-director relationship who are entirely separate from the UK ACSP’s payroll. My research indicates that this is a critical evolution in corporate governance in the UK. Shifting the provision of corporate directorships away from a UK ACSP's internal payroll to true independent third-party directors is a powerful structural lever for enhancing corporate governance and eliminating discriminatory or exclusionary onboarding policies by UK ACSPs. In the corporate services sector, discriminatory tactics (which are widespread) are rarely explicit (see upcoming paper below). Instead, they are almost always cloaked in the deceptive (false) regulatory or other clandestine language such as “risk appetite”, “compliance de-risking” or “jurisdictional complexity”. My research indicates that when a UK ACSP bundles administrative services with internally appointed (effectively ‘nominee’) directorships, it creates a structure where discrimination can thrive.

"The New Face of Bias: Hidden Discrimination and the Illusion of Fairness in Financial Services"

This upcoming paper reconceptualizes discrimination and racism in the financial services sector by examining how they have evolved from overt exclusionary practices into subtle, systemically embedded mechanisms that operate under the guise of compliance, risk management, and ostensibly neutral institutional policies. While regulatory reforms and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives have ostensibly reduced explicit bias, this study argues that modern discrimination persists through opaque decision-making frameworks that are difficult to detect, measure, and challenge.
